GARY – Danita Johnson Hughes, president and CEO of Edgewater Systems for Balanced Living, has been inducted into the Northwest Indiana Business and Industry Hall of Fame. It honors individuals that have made substantial contributions to business and industry, as well as making a lifetime commitment to enhancing communities in the region.
“Typically I listen more than I talk. But I was taught early on the wisdom of speaking up when you have something important to say,” said Johnson Hughes. “Or, speaking up when it matters. It matters as long as there are vulnerable people who need a voice and, as leaders, we have a responsibility to speak up and command action to improve the quality of life for all Northwest Indiana residents.”
Edgewater Systems is celebrating 39 years as a community mental health center providing a comprehensive range of services to assess, treat and care for persons with a true concern for their emotional well-being and to help toward recovery.
