HAMMOND – The Hammond Education Foundation annual dinner on Thursday, April 7, will feature Roland Parrish, a 1971 Hammond High School graduate and former track star who now heads Parrish McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd., which operates 25 franchises in north Texas.

The dinner begins at 6 p.m. at the Dynasty Banquet Center. The event also will honor an outstanding educator from each school in Hammond.

Parrish was an All-America track star and Indiana 880-yard state champion. He attended Purdue University on a track scholarship.

Tickets are $50 each or $400 for a table of eight. Since 1983, the not-for-profit Hammond Education Foundation has generated more than $1 million to enrich learning through distinctive teaching and classroom/school grants.
