It’s sun season, and a good time to think about the damage sun or tanning beds may have done to your skin. Community members are invited to have a free skin cancer screening June 9, from 9-11 a.m., in La Porte with Dr. Ted George Achufusi, and 1:15-3:15 p.m., in Knox with Dr. Nabil Abdo. During the screening the doctors will examine the skin for any possible signs of skin cancer and make recommendations on how to follow up on any suspicious areas. Wellness Outreach Specialists will provide information on how to protect skin from the sun – just in time for summer!
