Community Hospital in Munster names new CEO

Randy Neiswonger

Randy Neiswonger is the new CEO of Community Hospital in Munster.

“Randy brings extensive, well-rounded leadership qualities to his role as CEO,” said Donald Fesko, CEO, Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana Inc., parent company of Community Healthcare System.  

Neiswonger succeeds Community Hospital CEO Luis Molina, who is retiring after serving as a Northwest Indiana healthcare leader for 35 years.  

Before joining Community Hospital, Neiswonger held executive leadership positions in hospital operations and patient care, including recent oversight of University of Chicago Medicine's Community Hospital and Health Division. He brings more than 15 years of expertise in patient-centered care, physician relations, strategic planning, operational excellence and employee engagement.

Neiswonger earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a master’s in acute care nurse practitioner and an MBA from University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as CEO of Community Hospital and continue my mission to make a positive impact in the lives of patients,” Neiswonger said. “I look forward to becoming part of the fabric of this community as we continue to care for our friends, families and neighbors.”

Community Hospital is part of Community Healthcare System along with St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart and Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point.
