Campagna Academy in Schererville has promoted LeKeesha Edwards to chief operation officer.
In this role, Edwards will oversee the human resources, community-based services, and residential services including: private secure residential program, intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) residential program, emergency shelter care and open residential services.
“LeKeesha has been a key part of our team and we are thrilled to promote her to this position within our agency,” shared Elena Dwyre, CEO of Campagna Academy. The organization was featured in the October-November 2021 edition of Northwest Indiana Business Magazine.
Edwards joined Campagna Academy in 2015 as foster care licensing coordinator and quickly rose to several supervisory and management positions. During her tenure at Campagna she has provided leadership support and oversight for Campagna’s foster care, aftercare, human resources and logistics departments.
According to the organization, Edwards is passionate about programming that benefits at-risk families and has successfully served in the human and social service industry for nearly 30 years.
Her past notable leadership roles include executive director for the Crisis Center Inc. in Gary; assistant executive director and human resource director for Metropolitan Oasis CDC; state recruitment manager for Indiana/Illinois MENTOR and most recently Campagna director of community based services.
LeKeesha earned a bachelor of science degree from South Carolina State University and an MBA from DeVry University/Keller Graduate School of Management.
