Franciscan may acquire Medical Specialists Inc.

CROWN POINT – Franciscan Alliance is negotiating with Medical Specialists Inc. to make the region’s largest physician group a part of its network. Medical Specialists has 12 locations in the region. It was founded in 1978 in Munster and today has 50 member physicians. The physicians group has 330 employees.    

Para-transit gets $100,000 assist from RDA

CROWN POINT – The Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority has agreed to provide a matching grant of $100,000 to help maintain complementary para-transit services formerly provided by the Regional Bus Authority. Ingram Micro acquires BrightPoint Inc.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Ingram Micro Inc., the world’s largest technology distributor and supply-chain services provider, has reached an agreement to acquire BrightPoint Inc., of Indianapolis, a provider of lifecycle services to the wireless industry.
