VALPARAISO – Porter Regional Hospital will host a reception for its new Center for Women’s Health from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the Medical Plaza at 85 E. U.S. 6, next to the hospital. The Center for Women’s Health offers a comfortable and convenient location for women to access outpatient diagnostic and treatment service.
MUNSTER – Community Hospital has received accreditation from the American College of Radiology and the American Society for Radiation Oncology for its radiation department. The three-year accreditation means the department meets established guidelines for patients care and treatment, patient safety, personnel qualifications, adequacy of equipment, quality control and quality assurance.
GARY – Forest Hayes has been named as the director of the Gary Economic Development Corp. He currently is director of the Gary Commerce Department. Hayes takes over for Tom Collins II, who headed the Gary EDC until last June. Collins is an executive with Luke Oil Co. in Hobart.
VALPARAISO – Valparaiso Partners has announced plans to develop offices in the former McGill Manufacturing building at 259 W. Indiana Ave., in downtown. WHITING – Northwest Indiana Sports and Entertainment Inc. has organized the inaugural beer fest, “Southern Shores Brew Festival” from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, inside Oil City Stadium. CHESTERTON – Duneland Group Inc. has hired 20-year steel and manufacturing industry veteran Gregory J. Koszut to advance service diversification and strengthen current engineering, surveying and development services. Koszut, 43, was most recently Industrial Group Manager for DLZ Industrial LLC in Burns Harbor, where he was the lead manager responsible for all heavy industrial clients.
