HAMMOND – The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority has announced the results of a study that shows tourism contributed $1.6 billion to the Lake County economy in 2010. SOUTH BEND – HREC Real Estate of Colorado has been hired to market the 25-story Chase Tower. The company has listed the purchase price of the building as $8.3 million. MERRILLVILLE – NiSource Inc., the parent company for Northern Indiana Public Service Co., reported a 5.8 percent increase in revenue last year. KENTLAND – Bonnell Aluminum, an extrusion plant, has announced it will close its Newton County operation this summer. The closing will put 146 people out of work. Bonnell is owned by Tredegar Corp. of Richmond, Va., which said the plant had been losing money for several years. Tedegar has owned the Kentland factory since 1973.
