WHITING – Ineos, a chemical manufacturer in Whiting, has announced it will close its Northwest Indiana operations by the end of the year. HAMMOND – The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority has announced the results of a study that shows tourism contributed $1.6 billion to the Lake County economy in 2010. SOUTH BEND – HREC Real Estate of Colorado has been hired to market the 25-story Chase Tower. The company has listed the purchase price of the building as $8.3 million. MERRILLVILLE – NiSource Inc., the parent company for Northern Indiana Public Service Co., reported a 5.8 percent increase in revenue last year.
