MISHAWAKA — Jason D. Schultz, Esq., has been promoted to General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) health system.

Schultz has served as Legal Counsel for SJRMC since July 2011. In his new role, Schultz serves as lead counsel for the health system, manages the legal department and oversees HIPAA privacy and security. He also serves on the SJRMC Institutional Review Board. Schultz is also utilized as a legal and compliance resource for SJRMC's parent corporation, CHE Trinity Health.

Schultz brings a wealth of health care knowledge from his experience practicing law at Krieg DeVault, LLP in Mishawaka and Baker & Daniels, LLP in South Bend, where he represented various health care clients, including hospitals, physician groups and medical device manufacturers. He specialized in compliance-related issues and education, hospital/physician transactions, joint ventures, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, HIPAA and Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law violations.
