EAST CHICAGO – Ameristar Casinos, which operates a casino and hotel in East Chicago, has been acquired by Pinnacle Entertainment of Las Vegas. The deal is worth $869 million.

Part of the deal calls for Pinnacle to take over $1.9 billion in Ameristar debt.

Once complete, Pinnacle will operate 17 hotels and casinos in the United States.
