Duneland Chamber announces Community Awards

The Duneland Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the winners of its annual Community Awards during a luncheon July 17.

“We are incredibly excited to present these awards to such deserving winners,” said Maura Mundell, Duneland Chamber president, in a press release. “Their dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on our community, and it is an honor to recognize their contributions.”

The winners will by honored during the awards presentation from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 17 a the Spa Special Events Center in Chesterton.

Winners include:

  • Putting Duneland on the Map Award: Joseph Pete
  • Business Renovation Award: Wise Guys Liquors; Ruff Luxury Inn at the Dunes
  • New Construction Award: Duneland School Corp.
  • Humanitarian of the Year: Jim Trout; Ben and Sonya Welton
  • Volunteer of the Year: Barbara Black and Jane Delligatti; IAFF Local 4600
  • Golden Achievement Award: Bradley Sweet
  • Serviceperson of the Year: Cpl. Alexias DeJesus and Tom Felter Jr.
  • Duneland Distinguished Woman: To be announced at the event

Tickets to the event are $40 per person. The Duneland Chamber of Commerce serves the towns of Beverly Shores, Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Dune Acres and Porter.
