Indiana University Northwest Chancellor Ken Iwama joined the board of directors for One Region.
The organization is a coalition of 40-plus civic leaders who represent some of the largest employers in Lake, Porter and La Porte counties. Their goal is to increase population, cultivate talent in the workforce and increase income of residents.
“I am truly honored to join this network of like-minded executive leaders, who envision growth, partnership and prosperity for our One Region,” said Iwama in a press release. “With its many and varied attributes and resources, Northwest Indiana is well positioned for the future; a future I am honored to help advance through serving on the One Region board.”
Iwama's three-year term at the nonprofit begins immediately.
“(Iwama's) energy, relationships and forward-looking vision as the leader of one of the Region’s most important institutions of higher learning will serve our organization well as we forge ahead to bring new talent, ideas and change to Northwest Indiana,” said Matt Wells, president and CEO of One Region.
