The Duneland Chamber of Commerce commemorated the grand opening of Optimal Health & Wellness with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Dec. 7.
Members of the community enjoyed champagne, cupcakes and charcuterie as they learned more about the new business. The event featured live demonstrations. Participants could win raffle items and enjoy discounts on services and products.
Optimal Health & Wellness at 209 S. Calumet Rd. in Chesterton is a functional medicine and aesthetic practice. Functional medicine focuses on getting to the root cause of symptoms or conditions. Practitioners take into consideration the whole body to correct imbalances.
Kate O’Connor is the owner of Optimal Health & Wellness. She is a nurse practitioner with training in functional medicine. O'Connor has certifications in bio-identical hormone replacement and asesthetics. She specializes in hormonal imbalances, gut health, weight loss and detoxification.
Optimal Health & Wellness will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekends are by appointment.
The Chesterton-based Duneland Chamber of Commerce hosts over 100 community and networking events each year. The chamber works to facilitate the interests of the Duneland community. The community is comprised of the towns of Beverly Shores, Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Dune Acres and Porter.
