GRIFFITH – Pactiv, a molded fiber plant in Griffith, will close by the end of the year. Pactiv is based in Lake Forest, Ill., which plans to remove equipment from the plant and move it to other locations.

The plant, which has 48 employees, makes products for the consumer goods, food service and packaging markets.

Workers at the plant are represented by United Steelworkers District 7.

Pactiv is owned by Reynolds Group Holdings Limited, which is a subsidiary of New Zealand-based Rank Group.
