Regional Mental Health Welcomes New Staff

Regional Mental Health is pleased to announce that Board Certified Psychiatrist, Dr. Kobie I. Douglas has joined the team at Regional Mental Health Center.

“Regional is excited to have Dr. Douglas on staff,” said Robert Krumwied, MHA, President/CEO. “He comes to Regional with extensive experience in psychiatrics and behavioral health administration. His expertise adds to the convenient and compassionate care that we provide to our patients.”

Dr. Kobie I. Douglas is a recipient of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Scharf Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence and also is the primary author of Youth Homicide Prevention: Psychiatric Clinics of North America. Douglas is a graduate of Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Shaylice Bragg is the newest addition to Regional Mental Health Center and is currently seeing patients at Regional’s Strawhun Center, located at 8555 Taft St. in Merrillville, IN.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Bragg to our experienced team,” said Robert Krumwied, MHA, President/CEO of Regional. “She joins us with her diverse experience in mental health services, and we know she will add even more quality and value to the services we provide to our patients.”

Bragg is a graduate of Yale University’s School of Nursing in New Haven, CT and also holds an M.S.E. in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University in New York, NY.
