Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point president David Ruskowski accepted on behalf of the hospital a $65,000 donation from auxiliary treasurer Joel Hammers and president Carolyn Meinbresse, during a luncheon program. Each year, since 1974, the volunteers have raised money, through various fundraisers and the hospital gift shop, that is donated to the hospital to purchase equipment and otherwise enhance its operations. The contribution in the nearly 41 years Franciscan St. Anthony Health has operated totals more than $2.5 million. Ruskowski, who said he was speaking on behalf of the management team and all employees, expressed gratitude to the auxiliary members for unselfishly giving of their time and effort. “We couldn’t run the hospital without you. You are ambassadors of love, care and cheer and spread the good news about St. Anthony in the community. You do a lot of hard work and raise a lot of money, for which we are extremely grateful,” Ruskowski said.
