Heartland Film Festival officially opened its Call for Entries and is now accepting independently-produced feature length, short and student films for its 19th annual competition, which will take place October 14-23, 2010 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Heartland Film Festival presents Crystal Heart Awards and more than $100,000 in cash prizes to the top-judged submissions, including a Grand Prize for Best Dramatic Feature, a Best Documentary Feature Award and a Vision Award for Best Short Film. Awards and cash prizes are given to independently-produced films in categories of dramatic feature, documentary feature and shorts. Selected student films will receive Jimmy Stewart Memorial Crystal Heart Awards and cash prizes. Submissions will be evaluated for their achievement of excellence in filmmaking and promotion of Heartland’s mission of recognizing and honoring filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life. Completed U.S. and international feature length and short films may be submitted by May 1 for early consideration and a reduced submission fee. The regular deadline to submit films for the 2010 Heartland Film Festival is June 15. Submissions are accepted through withoutabox.com.
