U-Haul Co. of Indiana recently announced that local tire shop Proceed Delivery signed on as a U-Haul dealer to serve the Gary community.

Proceed Delivery at 4688 Cleveland St. in Gary will offer services like U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment and moving supplies. Proceed Delivery is owned by Tommie Banks.

U-Haul has teamed with independent dealers to offer rental equipment to do-it-yourself movers since 1945. Over 21,000 dealers across the U.S. and Canada generate supplemental income through their U-Haul affiliation. When customers rent from a U-Haul dealer, they are supporting an independent small business in their community.

Because no financial investment is required to be a dealer, these local affiliates are not U-Haul franchises. They are small businesses that have committed a portion of their lot space for U-Haul equipment, and a portion of their time to rent moving equipment to neighbors.

U-Haul is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2025. It operates over 23,000 rental locations across 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces. The U-Haul fleet includes 193,100 trucks, 138,700 trailers and 40,200 towing devices.
