LCAC panelists to discuss food system

The Lake County Advancement Conversations luncheon March 21 will feature a discussion about food in the Region.

The conversation is titled Let's Talk Food! Groceries, Urban Farming and Food Access in Lake County.

Local business and nonprofit leaders are working to create a resilient food system for Lake County that supports healthy communities for all residents. The panel will discuss all things food in Lake County. The conversation will explore how inflation, supply chain and labor shortages impact local food access and strategies to make fresh, healthy food more accessible.

The panelists include Jeff Strack of Strack & Van Til Supermarkets, Curtis Whittaker of FAITH Farms CDC and Victor Garcia of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

The luncheon will take place at noon March 21 at Avalon Manor in Merrillville. Check in begins at 11:30 a.m. Learn more here.
