Griffith Airport gets FAA planning grant

GRIFFITH – The Griffith-Merrillville Airport has received a $63,900 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to help it support planning and development efforts. U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Merrillville, made the announcement and said the grant will help in construction of a parallel taxiway and improve drainage at the airport. The airport has two 4,900-foot runways.
