NorthWest Indiana Bancorp of Munster, the parent of Peoples Bank SB, announced Jan. 24 it had completed its purchase of AJS Bancorp Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, A.J. Jobless rates rise across Indiana metro areas in December

La Porte-based Surf Air Wireless, a broadband service provider, announced Jan. 18 it raised $40 million in capital with Post Road Group and acquired FreedomNet Wireless of Michigan.
