SOUTH BEND – HREC Real Estate of Colorado has been hired to market the 25-story Chase Tower. The company has listed the purchase price of the building as $8.3 million. MERRILLVILLE – NiSource Inc., the parent company for Northern Indiana Public Service Co., reported a 5.8 percent increase in revenue last year. KENTLAND – Bonnell Aluminum, an extrusion plant, has announced it will close its Newton County operation this summer. The closing will put 146 people out of work. Bonnell is owned by Tredegar Corp. of Richmond, Va., which said the plant had been losing money for several years. Tedegar has owned the Kentland factory since 1973.
WEST LAFAYETTE – The recently created Center for Global Food Security at Purdue University has named Gary Burniske as managing director. Burniske was director of Mercy Corps in Bogota, Colombia, and will run the daily operations of the center at Discovery Park near the West Lafayette campus. MUNSTER – Through several private donations, 10 women will be able to receive diagnostic mammograms at the Women’s Diagnostic Center. St. John resident Shelley DeYoung is a two-year cancer survivor and said her recovery was because of Community Hospital and the Women’s Diagnostic Center along with support from her employer, Illiana Heating and Air Conditioning.
