SOUTH BEND – The South Bend Redevelopment Corp. has announced it will invest $6.1 million to rehabilitate one of the only remaining buildings of the Studebaker complex into a technology center. SOUTH BEND – Allegiant Airlines has added a flight at South Bend Regional Airport. Director Mike Daigle said the twice-weekly flight will connect South Bend to the Punta Gorda Airport in Florida starting June 27. VALPARAISO – John Sturgill has been promoted to partner and stockholder at McMahon, a Wisconsin-based architect and engineering firm. Sturgill is manager for the Valparaiso office. Sturgill has managed the Northwest Indiana office since 2004.
VALPARAISO – Dr. Larry McAfee has received the 2011 Dorothy M. Porter Outstanding Volunteer Award from United Way of Porter County. McAfee has been a member of United Way’s Porter County team for nearly a decade. In 2005, his animal hospital participated in the United Way Volunteer Center’s Day of Caring for the first time.
