For the second year in a row, the Gary Air Show will offer aviation fans two days to watch aerial acrobatics from Aug. 17 through 18.
“We are excited to announce the return of the Gary Air Show in Marquette Park and look forward to taking the experience to a higher level,” said Gary Mayor Eddie Melton in a press release. “This will be an excellent opportunity for our community to come together and show visitors what makes Gary great.”
The city, Gary/Chicago International Airport and the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority will co-host the weekend along that lake.
“The South Shore CVA is thrilled to collaborate once again with the city of Gary for another exhilarating air show,” said Nikki Lopez, visitors authority interim president and CEO. “Together, we are looking at opportunities to enhance the entertainment offerings at Marquette Park and elevate the air show experience for all attendees.”
The air show had been on hiatus since its last show in 2016, but made a comeback last year.
