NIPSCO and NiSource Charitable Foundation are offering an energy grant for two qualifying northern Indiana non-profit organizations.

The Bridging Our Energy Grant will be divided into two annual installments of $50,000 for each organization in 2024 and 2025. The goal of the grant is to fund programming focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.

“We chose to develop the Bridging Our Energy Grant as a reflection of our commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in our communities,” said Vince Parisi, NIPSCO president and chief operating officer, in a press release. “By investing in these vital initiatives, we’re empowering organizations to create lasting change and promoting greater economic inclusion for all.”

NIPSCO and NiSource Charitable Foundation are now accepting grant program applications. Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)3. Organizations must have a DEI and/or economic inclusion program focus and a direct impact in NIPSCO’s service area.

“NIPSCO cares about the future of Indiana and its residents, and we are committed to supporting organizations that are working to bring about positive change and creating a brighter future for underserved or underrepresented people in our communities,” Parisi said.

The grant review committee will evaluate submissions based on project quality, strategic potential, community impact, public benefit and management.

The deadline to apply is Oct. 18. Finalists will be selected in early November. Grant recipients will be notified in December. Learn more here.
