Sportsplex golf simulator opens

The Hammond Sportsplex celebrated the opening of its Swingers Golf Simulator and Lounge with a ribbon cutting Sept. 12.

Mayor Thomas McDermott and the Hammond Department of Parks & Recreation were on hand for the ceremony.

Swingers Golf Simulator and Lounge has a 1920s jazz age theme. It is located on the second floor inside the Hammond Sportsplex at 6630 Indianapolis Boulevard.

Swingers opened to the public Sept. 15. It will start league signups for this fall and winter.

Swingers features Trackman Golf Simulators. Golfers can play on world-famous courses without leaving the lounge.

The Hammond Sportsplex opened in 2018. McDermott praised its development.

“This place is thriving and it affects the entire boulevard. It’s a total success story,” McDermott said in a video of the ribbon cutting ceremony. “I’m proud of what’s going on here. Swingers is just one more example of a complete success story.”
