Hobart will host athletes, families and fans for the NCAA Division II America’s Crossroads Bowl Dec. 7.

The game is one of two NCAA Division II bowl games sponsored nationally in 2024. It is conducted in partnership with the South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority and the City of Hobart.

“We are thrilled to be hosting this elite college football game for another year with the City of Hobart,” said Phil Taillon, South Shore CVA president/CEO, in a press release.

The Truman State University Bulldogs and Tiffin University Dragons were selected to participate in the fifth annual America’s Crossroads Bowl. The teams represent the Great Lakes Valley Conference and Great Midwest Athletic Conference, respectively. It will be a rematch of the 2022 bowl game in which the Bulldogs defeated the Dragons.

The festivities kick off with a pre-game party at the Hobart Art Theater serving up sliders, pulled pork, brats and drinks from 9 a.m. to noon. The game will be played at the Brickyard Stadium at Hobart High School at 1 p.m.

Northwind Investments, owners of several Jimmy John’s restaurants in the Region will host a halftime contest. Northwest Indiana residents can sign up for free to be randomly selected to kick a field goal at halftime and win Jimmy John’s for one year.

“We invite all football fans, friends and families to come out and enjoy college-level football and show these student-athletes some great Hoosier cheer and hospitality,” Taillon said.

The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority is a sales and marketing organization. It promotes the development of attractions throughout the Region. In 2018, visitors spent over $980 million dollars in Lake County on lodging, entertainment, recreation, shopping and food and beverages.
