The Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce announced ribbon cuttings for the month of September.

The Valparaiso Creative Council will reveal its first mural downtown hand-painted by artist Alex Ann Allen. This project was made possible by the IN Indiana Campaign through a grant from the Indiana Destination Development Corp. The Valparaiso Creative Council was one of 33 Indiana communities to be selected.

“Indiana is a diverse state that’s full of character, and we plan to showcase that through these works of art,” said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch on the IN Indiana website. “Through the public artwork, we will have the opportunity to work together with our local communities to show in our state. From the smallest towns to the largest cities, there is something for everyone IN Indiana.”

The mural unveiling will take place at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Blockhead Beerworks, 150 Washington St.

Other businesses expecting to cut the ribbon include:

  • Exhale Spa in Valpo, at 786 McCool Road, will celebrate a grand opening at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 12.
  • Noah's Ark Pediatrics, 1610 Calumet Ave., will celebrate a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21.
  • Buhle Chiropractic & Wellness, 308 Lincolnway, will celebrate a grand opening at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 26.

The chamber serves about 800 members, of which 75% are small businesses with fewer than 10 employees.
