SBA loan deadline May 13 for January event in Lake County

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering up to $2 million in loans for businesses and private nonprofits that were affected by ice jams and flooding Jan. 15 through 25 in Lake County.

The SBA deadline for applying for physical damage disaster loans is May 13.

Homeowners and renters also are eligible to apply for the loans, which offer interest rates as low as 4% for businesses, 3.25% for nonprofits and 2.7% for homeowners and renters. Interest won't start accruing and payments will not be due until 12 months after the date of disbursement.

The deadline to apply for economic injury is Dec. 13. Learn more about the disaster assistance program here.
