Evergreen Real Estate completes Green Oaks of Valparaiso

Chicago-based Evergreen Real Estate Group celebrated the opening of Green Oaks of Valparaiso with a ribbon cutting May 15.

Green Oaks of Valparaiso is a three-story, 120-unit assisted living community. The $30 million project provides housing and services to low-income seniors in Valparaiso.

“As our second affordable assisted living community in Indiana, Green Oaks of Valparaiso is helping to fill a crucial gap in senior care and advancing our mission of improving lives and transforming communities,” said Steve Rappin, Evergreen Real Estate Group CEO, in a press release.  

Green Oaks of Valparaiso is a licensed residential care facility. It is staffed 24 hours by certified nursing assistants. The community's amenities include a dining room, beauty salon, fitness center and garden. The facility will offer programming and events.

Green Oaks of Valparaiso is managed by Gardant Management Solutions, a nationwide provider of assisted living services.

“Our focus is to provide Green Oaks of Valparaiso residents with the love, compassion and dignity they deserve and the help and assistance they need,” said Julie Simpkins, Gardant Management Solutions co-president. “In addition, helping each resident achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible is our top priority.”

Evergreen Real Estate Group develops, acquires and manages affordable and market-rate multifamily apartments for seniors and families across 14 states. The group owns and manages 13,000 units of multifamily housing. Evergreen Real Estate Group was founded in 1999.
