The Duneland Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon-cutting event on May 16 for Chesterton's 1100 Woods Community.

The opening event offers attendees a first look at the new home models in the 1100 Woods Community built by Phillippe Builders. Guests can meet the Phillippe Builders team and Laura Hetherington, home consultant.

“We are so excited to finally share this neighborhood with everyone,” said Rachael Phillippe, owner of Phillippe Builders, in a press release. “It's a beautiful location, and we knew from the outset that we wanted to create something special — a space that truly contributes to the small-town charm of this family-oriented community.”

Phillippe Builders has been building homes in Chesterton since 2005. The company constructed Village Green, a neighborhood of custom townhouses next to Coffee Creek Preserve.

“Phillippe Builders knows and loves Chesterton,” Phillippe said. “It's a beautiful town that encompasses all the best the Region has to offer.”

The ribbon-cutting and opening event will start at 4:30 p.m. May 16 at the 1100 Woods Community south of Dogwood Park. Refreshments will be available. More information about attending the event is available here.

The Duneland Chamber of Commerce aims to promote economic growth in the Duneland area. It serves the communities of Beverly Shores, Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Dune Acres and Porter. Based in Chesterton, the chamber hosts over 100 community and networking events each year.
