The Gary-based Black Chamber of Commerce of Northwest Indiana will host its annual convention June 27.

The event will feature panel discussions focused on small business resources, minority contract readiness and procurement opportunities. Entrepreneurs, business owners and other attendees also will have the opportunity to network with each other.

“Don't miss this chance to connect with key decision makers and explore avenues for growth and success in your business,” said Lois Whittaker, Black Chamber of Commerce of NWI’s president and founder. “Let's work together to unlock new opportunities and drive economic empowerment in our community!”

The first panel will explore the resources available to small businesses. Panelists will provide insights and strategies to grow and thrive in today's competitive market.

The second panel will dive into the topic of minority contract readiness. Panelists will highlight steps and considerations for minority-owned businesses to become contract-ready and seize lucrative opportunities.

The third panel will shed light on procurement opportunities available for minority entrepreneurs, providing information about how to access government and corporate contracts.

The convention will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. June 27 at Indiana University Northwest’s Savannah Center in Gary. The event is free to attend. More information is available here.

The Black Chamber of Commerce of Northwest Indiana aims to economically empower and sustain African American communities in the Region through entrepreneurship and business ownership.
