Barbauld Agency wins award

The Valparaiso-based Barbauld Agency recently earned a Bronze Summit Award.

The Barbauld Agency received the award for its marketing and advertising refresh for Advance Financial Federal Credit Union. The winning project, entitled Bold Changes for Lasting Impact, was recognized in the Summit Creative Award category for its strategic and creative approach.

The Summit Awards, now in its 30th year, celebrates excellence in marketing communications and creative achievement worldwide. By limiting eligibility based on company size, the awards ensure that small and mid-sized agencies compete on a level playing field with global industry leaders.

The Barbauld Agency’s work with AFFCU aimed to transform the credit union’s brand identity and marketing presence. The comprehensive refresh included updated messaging and a more cohesive visual identity across key product lines.

Initiatives included:

  • Checking Campaign: Simplified messaging emphasizing convenience, no monthly fees and personal connection.
  • Home Equity Line of Credit Campaign: Updated creative highlighting flexibility, introductory rates and aspirational member goals.
  • Vehicle Loan Campaign: Modernized messaging paired with fresh visuals to showcase competitive rates and lifestyle benefits.
  • Holiday Cash Campaign: A member-friendly promotional offer positioned for maximum seasonal impact.

“This award validates the impact of thoughtful, strategic design,” said Chris Barbauld, The Barbauld Agency president, in a press release. “Our goal with Bold Changes for Lasting Impact was to deliver a brand transformation that would resonate with members and position Advance Financial Federal Credit Union for long-term success. We’re proud to see our work recognized on an international stage.”
