Merrillville launches mobile app

The Town of Merrillville is launching a new mobile app designed to transform the way residents connect and stay informed.

Called “My Merrillville,” the digital tool will provide access to town news, event updates, road construction updates, job postings and links to resources on the town’s website.

“We’re stepping into the future of citizen engagement,” said Rick Bella, town council president, in a press release. “This app will streamline how we communicate with residents and ensure the community has fast, reliable access to the information they need.”

The My Merrillville app is available for free download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Rhonda Neal, town council vice president, spearheaded the My Merrillville app initiative. As chairwoman of the Special Town Projects Committee, Neal saw the limitations of a previous e-notification system used by the town. Neal and town leadership sought out a simplified method to quickly reach residents about important town matters.

“This mobile solution represents an important step forward in how we serve and connect with our residents,” Neal said. “We’re confident it will strengthen communication and bring our community even closer together.”
