InspereX names president

Chesterton-resident Laura Elliott was appointed president of Delray Beach, Florida-based InspereX.

In her new role, Elliott will advance the firm’s strategic initiatives and business development. She will expand senior relationships with clients, trading platforms, regulators and stakeholders. Elliott will identify growth opportunities, streamline efficiencies and ensure the firm’s readiness for changing market conditions and regulatory environments.

Elliott previously served the firm as head of capital markets and co-head of fixed income.

“Laura consistently produces outstanding results that further our team, our firm and our industry,” Mitchell said in a press release. “Her contributions will be vital to our expansion plans, and I am delighted to name her president of InspereX.”

In 1999, Elliott co-founded Incapital alongside Tom Ricketts, with the vision of providing retail investors access to fixed income offerings traditionally only made available to institutional investors, while offering issuers a new, previously untapped stream of funding. This led to the firm’s first product offering, InterNotes – retail corporate notes sold to individual investors in $1,000 increments.

Elliott led the way in building a partner network of over 1,000 broker-dealers, banks and institutional investors that has distributed over $800 billion of fixed income investments and structured products. In 2021, Incapital merged with 280 CapMarkets to form InspereX.

“We wouldn’t be the successful, growing firm that we are today without Laura’s contributions; she is most deserving of this appointment, and we have the utmost confidence in her leadership as we usher InspereX into its bright future,” Ricketts, InspereX chairman and Chicago Cubs executive chairman said.

Elliott brings to her role 35 years of experience in sales management, capital markets, strategic relationship management, distribution, marketing and the start-up/build-out process for investment banks, brokerage firms, banks and RIAs.

Elliott earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Alabama. She serves on the executive board of directors of the Bond Dealers of America and on the Council on Bond Market Structure. She is a member of the SIFMA Retail Fixed Income Forum, the Women’s Syndicate Association and the Security Traders Association of Chicago.

“I’ve been very fortunate to work with a devoted team of talented professionals and contribute to the firm’s growth and evolution over the years,” Elliott said. “We’ve reached an incredibly exciting juncture for the firm and I’m eager to continue our strong momentum.”
