Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel Corp. appointed Emily Chieng as its investor relations officer beginning in September.
Chieng succeeds Kevin Lewis who became the company's vice president of finance in December.
“(Chieng's) extensive experience as a research analyst in the sector is an exciting addition to our existing investor relations team,” Lewis said in a press release. “Emily has built a reputation of understanding the metals and mining industry and effectively communicating with the financial community. I’m eager for Emily to engage with our current and future stockholders.”
Chieng hails from Australia where she earned bachelor's degrees in engineering and pharmaceutical science from Monash University. She is also a certified financial analyst and a charter holder of the CFA Institute.
Her most recent experience was at Goldman Sachs where she was vice president of equity research in the North America metals and mining department. She started there in 2014. She also worked for BHP Billiton, a mining company.
U.S. Steel was founded in 1901 and maintains locations in East Chicago, Gary and Portage. Its Best for All strategy is committed to an inclusive environment for all employees.
