Dalton Enterprises has outgrown its Wisconsin location and is moving to Michigan City.

Dalton Enterprises manufactures commercial-grade repair and sealant products for asphalt. The company distributes its products to contractors and retailers across the country, including Home Depot and ACE Hardware.

“Our team of fabricators is working with local plumbers, electricians and contractors to construct the equipment needed to be fully operational later this year at our new facility in Michigan City,” said John Dalton, Dalton Enterprises president, in a press release.

The company expects to employ 25 to 35 workers on a seasonal basis.

Dalton Enterprises is a family-owned company that supports American-made products, said Clarence Hulse, Economic Development Corp. Michigan City executive director.

“Dalton is a strong addition to our base of manufacturing businesses here in Michigan City,” Hulse said. “Our city continues to prove it has the infrastructure, logistics and workforce essential to attract and retain an array of companies and industries.”

Economic Development Corp. Michigan City works to grow and attract new industry and businesses to the community.

“Exciting times when you have a family-owned business relocate to the city,” said Angie Nelson Deuitch, Michigan City mayor. “Michigan City will continue to work with our career tech center and our education system along with our EDC to make sure we build the capacity for manufacturers to move into Michigan City.”

Dalton Enterprises is based in Connecticut. The company's pavement coatings are made in the United States with raw materials sourced near its plants in Indiana, Florida and California. Founded in 1945, Dalton Enterprises also manufactures recreational coatings used on tennis, basketball and pickleball courts.
