Powers Health and Northwest Cancer Centers will partner to provide care at a new cancer center in Crown Point.
The 71,000 square-foot Cancer Care Center is slated to open in summer 2025. The center will provide testing and diagnostic services, including PET CT imaging. Patients will also be able to receive infusion therapy, radiation therapy and cancer-focused physical therapy.
“We look forward to this expanded collaboration with Powers Health,” said Dr. Mohamad Kassar, Northwest Cancer Centers president and CEO, in a press release. “Together, we offer decades of trusted experience with a shared commitment to elevate and transform cancer care to our patients.”
The cancer program will provide clinical trials, genetic counseling and nurse navigation. The campus will also feature a healing garden.
Dyer-based Northwest Cancer Centers provides cancer treatment and care. It has locations in Dyer, Michigan City, Valparaiso, Crown Point and Hobart. The Northwest Cancer Centers Foundation is a nonprofit organization that offers support, resources and assistance to individuals affected by cancer in Northwest Indiana.
Powers Health is a health care system comprised of Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Powers Health Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point and Hartsfield Village, a continuing care retirement community in Munster. Powers Health was previously named Community Healthcare System.
