HealthVisions Midwest to host summit

Hammond-based HealthVisions Midwest is partnering with the Indiana Community Health Workers Association and Indiana Women in Need to present a summit July 31.

The summit, Embracing Your Calling & Conquering Adversity, is geared toward human service professionals. Community health workers at all levels, certified or on a path to certification, will have the opportunity to learn from guest speakers and network with colleagues.

Sharon Tubbs, HealthVisions Midwest executive director, will provide the keynote address. Guess speakers will discuss:

  • Cultural humility: working with vulnerable populations
  • Indiana’s housing crisis
  • The importance of continued DEI services in public health

A representative of the Indiana Community Health Workers Association will give a presentation and CHW Champions will be recognized. State-wide organizations and providers will host vendor tables to share resources with attendees.

The summit will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 31 at the Crown Point Community Library.

HealthVisions Midwest is a faith-based nonprofit. The organization focuses on eliminating health disparities and improving health outcomes for underserved populations through education, collaboration and advocacy.
