Downtown South Bend to celebrate new YMCA

YMCA of Greater Michiana will open the doors of its new facility in downtown South Bend on July 25.

Downtown South Bend is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening. South Bend Mayor James Mueller, city representatives and the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce will gather for the event. Community members are invited to attend.

The new downtown South Bend YMCA’s facility is located just a block away from where its community presence began in 1907. The grand opening celebrates 142 years of serving the community.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. July 25 at the new YMCA at 111 W. Jefferson Blvd. in South Bend. An open house will begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue until noon. Learn more about the event here.

Downtown South Bend is a nonprofit governed by a board, including downtown business owners, downtown residents, local business leaders, the University of Notre Dame and city officials. The organization promotes the city’s downtown amenities.
