To maximize Indiana’s talent pipeline as a conduit to a thriving future economy, stakeholders around the state are partnering on a new program.
The TPM Academy is a training developed by the U.S. Chamber Foundation. The program seeks to enhance partnerships between employers and their talent supply chain partners. The academy will be supported locally by the Institute for Workforce Excellence, a subsidiary of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.
The first cohort of the four-month training program began June 23. It includes about 40 individuals from across the state, such as representatives from workforce boards, chambers of commerce and educational institutions.
The following organizations from Northwest Indiana are participating:
- Ivy Tech- South Bend
- Beacon Health System
- Penn High School
- South Bend Regional Chamber
- Horizon Education Alliance
- Northern Indiana WorkOne
“We are excited to partner with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education’s Career and Technical Education Team and U.S. Chamber Foundation to bring workforce leaders together from across the state to address employers’ talent challenges,” said Sally Saydshoev, IWE executive director, in a press release. “The TPM Academy of Indiana provides a space to learn from one another, share practical insights and explore collaborative approaches to better align talent development with real industry needs and build on the foundation of past and current efforts.”
The TPM Academy will feature a customized curriculum. It serves as an employer handbook giving participants the knowledge, skills and abilities to implement talent supply chain solutions on behalf of their employer collaborative members.
“Together, we’re creating a more informed and responsive system – both during the academy sessions and long after it ends,” Saydshoev said.
