Legacy Foundation, bp partner

Legacy Foundation and bp Foundation are partnering to support Hammond, East Chicago and Whiting organizations impacted by the August 2025 storms and flooding.

The new bp Foundation Community Fund Grant will provide up to $5,000 per organization to assist with recovery efforts and strengthen preparedness for future weather-related emergencies.

Eligible applicants include nonprofits, churches, schools, local governments and first-response agencies in East Chicago, Hammond or Whiting.

Projects may include facility repairs, infrastructure upgrades, emergency preparedness planning and training, purchase of critical supplies or community initiatives that promote disaster readiness.

Applications are currently open. The deadline to submit an application is Nov. 21. Award notifications will be announced Dec. 19. Learn more here.
