Unity Foundation launches search for president

The Unity Foundation of La Porte County has begun the search for its next president and CEO.

The move follows the Unity Foundation’s January announcement that founding president Maggi Spartz will retire at the end of 2025.

The position is publicly posted by Kittleman & Associates, a national executive search firm specializing in nonprofit CEO and executive director searches.

The incoming president and CEO will lead an organization with over $50 million in assets and a 30+ year history of grantmaking, scholarship administration and fund management.

“We are committed to a transparent, inclusive search that ensures a smooth transition and positions Unity for continued success,” said Jon Gilmore, Unity Foundation board chairman, in a press release. “We’re looking for a leader who shares our vision for a vibrant, resilient and equitable La Porte County.”

With the search process underway, Unity Foundation is inviting applications from experienced executives. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by June 20.

The Unity Foundation has served La Porte County since 1992. It administers over 350 charitable funds. The Unity Foundation has distributed nearly $29 million through direct grants and scholarships.
