Gary Chamber to host Civility Day events

The Gary Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual World Civility Day April 10.

The chamber calls World Civility Day a celebration of the Golden Rule — the concept of treating others as one would want to be treated. The day will feature civility-themed events, workshops, a vendor fair and an evening awards dinner.

The chamber will celebrate the day with workshops and lunch at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center in Merrillville. Workshop themes will include civility in the classroom and in the workplace.

The awards dinner will take place at the Avalon Manor in Merrillville. The dinner will feature speakers and awards presented by Community Civility Counts. Learn more here.

The Gary Chamber of Commerce is an organization comprised of business owners, community leaders and citizens. Together, they promote community development and work to improve the economic, civic and cultural well-being of the area.
