Society of Innovators announces speaker

Brian Schutt, director of Indiana’s Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, will serve as the keynote speaker at the 2025 Innovators Awards Luncheon Oct. 29.

Appointed earlier this year by Governor Mike Braun, Schutt leads the newly created Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The office was established to strengthen Indiana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, support small business growth and advance innovation across the state.

“Brian Schutt’s leadership and the creation of Indiana’s new Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation reflect exactly what the Society of Innovators has championed for the past 20 years — that innovation is a catalyst for economic growth and community vitality,” said Jason Williams, Society of Innovators CEO, in a press release.

Schutt, a longtime entrepreneur and business leader, brings experience as co-founder of the Indianapolis-based HomeSense Heating & Cooling and as a venture investor and civic leader focused on building opportunities for Hoosier innovators.

“His message reinforces our mission to make innovation real, relevant and relatable by connecting people, ideas and opportunities, and we look forward to the insights he will share with our Region’s innovators,” Williams said.

Celebrating its 20th year, the Society of Innovators annual awards focus on the spirit of creativity and ingenuity by discovering, honoring and celebrating innovators from across the seven-county region of Northwest Indiana. Dedicated to the idea that anyone can be an innovator, the Society recognizes that innovation is the key to competitiveness.

The 2025 Innovators Awards winners will be recognized and inducted into the Society of Innovators during the annual luncheon.

“For 20 years, these awards have showcased the incredible talent and vision that call Northwest Indiana home,” Gary Johnson, Society of Innovators chairman, said. “The individuals and teams we induct are not just solving problems; they are building opportunities that transform how we live, work and grow as a Region.”
