Indiana University South Bend's next vice chancellor for student engagement comes from the University of Indianapolis. Kory Vitangeli will start her new responsibilities June 20.

At the University of Indianapolis, Vitangeli was the dean of students and vice president for student and campus affairs. She also worked in student affairs roles at DePauw University and at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.

“Having Kory on board will help us strengthen the student experience,” said Susan Elrod, chancellor of Indiana University South Bend, in a press release. “She brings record of proven leadership, and I am pleased to have her join our leadership team and campus community.”

Her role at IU South Bend will include overseeing campus housing and career services, the Titans Feeding Titans food pantry, and veterans' services.

Vitangeli earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio, and a master's degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University.

IU South Bend serves about 4,500 students in 100 degree programs, and employs more than 230 full-time faculty members.
