IU Northwest to offer mental health, career exploration camp

Indiana University Northwest is inviting local high school juniors, seniors and rising college freshmen to a summer camp that blends mental health education with career exploration.

The Mental Health & Career Exploration Summer Camp is hosted by the IU Northwest School of Social Work and supported by the Northwest Indiana Area Health Education Centers.

The free, three-day camp offers students a hands-on introduction to the behavioral health fields of social work and psychology. It will also equip them with tools to support their own mental well-being.

Campers will engage in interactive learning experiences, wellness activities and professional networking designed to spark career interest and personal growth.

Program highlights include:

  • Hands on experience with identifying and responding to signs of mental health challenges
  • Career panels with behavioral health professionals
  • Virtual reality simulations for real-world mental health scenarios
  • Guided self-care and wellness workshops
  • Free breakfast and lunch

The Mental Health & Career Exploration Summer Camp will take place June 24–26 on the IU Northwest campus. Learn more here.
