The Chesterton-based Duneland Chamber of Commerce recently revealed the artwork for its new town banners.

The chamber partnered with the Chesterton Art Center for the creation of this year’s banners. They showcase the artwork of local students.

“This is a great opportunity for our young artist students to showcase their beautiful artworks for the entire town and our visitors,” said Hannah Hammond-Hagmon, executive director of the Chesterton Art Center, in a press release. “It is really special. We're grateful to have partnered with the chamber to make this happen.”

The young artists whose work was selected for display include:

  • Cassidy Hansen – 8 years old (flowers)
  • Miki Kresal – 14 years old (sunset)
  • Teagan Monroe – 15 years old (trees)
  • Zoe Gelement – 15 years old (birds)

The town banners are scheduled to be installed by the opening day of the European Market season in May.

The Duneland Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to ensure the surrounding communities are vibrant places to live, work and play. The chamber serves the towns of Beverly Shores, Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Dune Acres and Porter. The organization offers community-building events and educational programming while promoting economic development in the Region.
