VU panel to discuss U.S. economy

            VALPARAISO – Valparaiso University will host a panel discussion Wednesday, Nov. 10, that will examine the state of the American economy.

            “Looking Back, Looking Forward: State of the U.S. Economy,” begins at 5 p.m. in the Neils Science Center Room 234.

            Speakers are Helen Mirza, community affairs director and senior supervising examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago; Alan White, assistant professor of law at Valparaiso University; and Marty Wolfson, associate professor of economics at the University of Notre Dame and director of the Higgins Study Program.

            Jaishankar Raman, an associate professor of economics who helped organize the panel discussion, said it will provide a deeper understanding of the complex economic issues facing the country.
